Impact windows, set to the approval and signed off

Hurricane-rated windows and doors measured for each opening, installed exactly as their approval specifies, and inspected before we call the job done.

What the job covers

An impact window only performs the way it was tested if it's anchored, shimmed and sealed the way its approval says. That installation detail is the part you can't see once the stucco is patched — so it's the part we're careful about.

  • Impact-rated windows in single-hung, horizontal-roller, casement and fixed styles.
  • Impact entry doors and French doors, matched to the opening.
  • Products with the approval your county requires — Miami-Dade NOA in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, Florida Product Approval elsewhere.
  • Anchoring, buck repair and waterproofing done to the product's installation instructions.
  • Stucco, drywall and trim patched around the new frames so the finish matches.
  • Permit pulled under our building certification, inspections passed, permit closed.

Why the approval and the permit matter

Window and door replacements in Florida usually need a permit, and the product has to carry the approval required where the home sits. Inspectors check the installation against that approval.

Final Touch Builders installs under Florida Certified Building Contractor CBC1265305 and leaves you with a closed permit — the paperwork a wind-mitigation inspection and a future buyer will both look for.

You can verify both certifications at Florida DBPR.

Impact window questions

Do impact windows need a permit?
In most Florida cities, yes. We pull it, schedule the inspections and close it when the work passes.
What's the difference between a Miami-Dade NOA and Florida Product Approval?
Both show a product was tested for hurricane conditions. Miami-Dade and Broward (the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone) require products approved for that zone; the rest of Florida uses Florida Product Approval. We match the product to your location.
Can new windows affect my insurance?
Approved protection on every opening can qualify for a wind-mitigation credit with many insurers. Ask your insurer how they apply it; a closed permit helps the inspection go smoothly.
